So due to the scarcity of this moment enjoy it guys. Truly do it. The world won’t end if you don’t post your cute engagement picture on Facebook right away. Just wait a few days. Okay maybe an hour to post and just love on each other in that moment. Take this unique time as being fiancées and be present. Enjoy this moment together because  I’m sure you’ve heard this before but it really does fly by.

2. Announce it and Celebrate

If you haven’t already let your closest family and friends know first. Furthermore, you can then let everyone else know on your personal social media channels you’re getting married.

3. Insure Your Bling! Get That Insurance Locked Down

Getting insurance for your beautiful rock is probably nothing something you’d thought you’d need but it is a must.

4. If the ring doesn’t fit just get it resized

So maybe your Fiancee messed up the ring size? No worries, he tried and that deserves applause. Likewise, getting a ring size a little off happens all the time. You just need to get it resized. Problem solved:)

5. Plan an Engagement Party

This is a time to celebrate with a great meal and a few drinks. Anytime there’s great food is a celebration but after an engagement has happened you really have to celebrate. You can choose to do it solo and have  it be intimate or bring your whole crew around to party.

6. Determine Your Bridal Party

It’s time to determine who are the lucky gals and ladies that will be in your wedding party. This invitation is such an honor so choose your favorite ride or die besties. These are the gals and guys you just couldn’t see yourself getting married without.

7. Figure out your wedding budget

This is probably one of the hardest aspects of planning a wedding. Figuring out your wedding budget and actually sticking to it. Start brainstorming on what aspects of your wedding are important to you and plan accordingly. Likewise, try to determine how much money you can allocate for each vendor and who will pay for each expense. Trust me you want to do this early and stick to the wedding budget.

Once you have your wedding budget in mind it will be much easier to figure out a guest list that can accommodate you financially. So if you are a couple that doesn’t have a limitless budget choose your guests intentionally. You’ll want to choose people that you actually talk to and have an active personal relationship with. Don’t just build a guest list for the sheer numbers because that will be a sure way for wedding costs to add up. In contrast, if you have a big budget and want to invite a ton of guests carry on guys. No matter the size of the wedding it will be beautiful.

8. Pick Your Wedding Date

Wedding vendors get booked fast! It is very important to select your wedding venue, wedding photographer, and wedding date asap. This way you’ll be a step ahead of the game and can sleep easy knowing your date is open before someone else books it.

10. Research Wedding Vendors Before Their Booked

As mentioned in the engagement tips above you’ll want to start researching and booking wedding vendors early on in the wedding planning process. Why? Because you don’t want to be stressed months before the wedding not sure if you’ll be able to find a wedding vendor that is available. You’ll be suprised how many vendors get booked months to years in advance. So I highly recommend meeting your wedding vendors and getting to know them personally early on before booking them for your big day.

11. Find Your Wedding Photographer…. (a.k.a me …just kidding guys but really let’s connect🙂

You Know I’m Open and would love to shoot your wedding (Had to put have a shameless plug in their guys.) Honestly as a Florida wedding photographer and past bride I know how challenging it is finding a wedding photographer, There are so many options, styles, and price points it can give you a headache just thinking about it. I promise though when you do find your photographer you are officially free to do a happy dance. After-all, your photographer will be the only vendor that will be with you all day you need to choose wisely and make sure you vibe well with them.

12. Build A Wedding Website

Building a wedding website is completely optional. If you want a place where your family and friends can freely access the information about the wedding then do it. There’s tons of free wedding websites like The Knot and Wedding Wire and setting up your wedding website is a breeze.

13. Relax and Go on Several Date Nights

Out of all the engagement tips I mentioned this one is super important. When you finish a task on this checklist don’t forget to relax.
